A Message from the Club President
Since the first of the year, we’ve had several members pass away. Please keep them and their families in your prayers.

The Club’s two major charitable events were very successful.

The St. Joseph Pageant generated $2,940 for various charities. This makes the total to date $85,295. A big thanks to the chairpersons (Florence Coleman, Grace Pizzo, Nancy Cosentino and Sal DiPasquale) and all of you that donated food and your time to this event.

The Taste of Italy was a sell out. We donated $5,135 to the Penrickton Center for Blind Children. This makes the 5 year total $17,485. A big thanks to Tony Lumia and his volunteers. Also thanks to Mary Cottone and Leslie Lupo for planting flowers and landscape work prior to the event.

At our Spaghetti Dinner on Wednesday May 21st, we served 726 dinners. We also introduced sausage, which went very well, with us selling out all 40 pounds. More importantly, we had a sufficient number of volunteers. The News-Herald will be doing a photo spread with pictures from the May Spaghetti Dinner. In April we served 725 dinners.

Remember it’s always the third Wednesday of the month. If you can’t work then round up some friends and enjoy the freshly made sauce, meatballs and now sausage. These monthly dinners are open to the public. The next Club summer events, other than the monthly Spaghetti Dinners, are as follows:
Mary Cottone again will organize our participation in the Wyandotte Fourth of July Parade. Come join us for the fun and bring your children and grandchildren. We will meet at the Club for pizza after the event.

Vivian and Mike Palazzolo will again chair the Club Picnic on Sunday July 27th. See flyer in this newsletter.

The annual Club Golf Outing will be held on Saturday August 9th at Westburn Country Club in South Rockwood. It was very successful last year. Gaetano Vitale is working to make it even better. Bring your golfing friends. See the flyer in this newsletter.

The fall dance has been rescheduled for Saturday October 4th. The old date was October 12th, so change your calendars. Mary Wierzba and her daughter, Janice Labadie, are chairing the event, which will be titled “Dancing with the Stars”.
